Professional Biography

Emily has worked in local food systems work in various capacities since 2017, when she graduated with her M.S. in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky. She has a background of marketing for small businesses in Kentucky, working as a marketing director for several companies prior to coming to UK. She has also worked as the Education Program Manager for a food sovereignty non-profit. Now she works in all things local food system- from helping to coordinate various projects around Community Supported Agriculture, working with small farms to enhance their marketing, and grow the amount of local food sold and consumed in Kentucky. She also coordinates the Producer Voices series and Center for Crop Diversification social media and newsletter.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and numerous animals.
