Professional Biography

Brett A. Wolff is a Senior Extension Specialist in Agricultural Economics and co-director of the UK Center for Crop Diversification and Kentucky SARE Programs at the University of Kentucky. He has served at UK since 2012 in multiple roles spanning research, teaching, and Extension. His current work centers on marketing, farm business development, and specialty crop diversification, with a strong focus on helping small and mid-sized farms build economic resilience. His research focuses on the Land Grant University's contribution to the public good. Brett has secured and collaborated on more than a dozen funded projects through USDA, state agencies, and agricultural organizations to support programs for direct marketing, sustainable agriculture, organic systems, and workforce training.

He is the recipient of multiple professional honors, including Staff Member of the Year from the University of Kentucky, Lisa C. Collins Outstanding Staff Award, and Outstanding Program Awards from the Kentucky Association of State Extension Professionals (KASEP) for innovative educational programming. A frequent presenter at regional and national conferences, Brett also co-created the Hort Culture podcast and has authored widely used Extension publications and resources for growers.

Brett holds an M.A. in Sociology and dual B.A.s in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Kentucky, where he is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education. Outside of work, he enjoys tending bonsai trees and cultivating a perennial garden.
